Would you rather be rich or famous? Why?
Submitted by Chris Vaughn. No hesitation here, rich. Famous comes with a whole lot of pressure, and is with you 24/7/365. You can't get away from being famous, especially from the kind of famous that draws paparazzi like flies. I don't know how the celebs do it day after day. They have to be conscious of every thing they do or say, no matter if it's in public or not. With the cell phone cameras these days you could find yourself spread across the Internet or in print for the slightest thing. It's gotten insane how drawn we are to this kind of titillation. Being rich would be much more controllable. At least then you could pay someone to keep them away. I wouldn't want to be obscenely rich, just comfortably rich. So if I wanted to take a few friends and go to Europe I could rent a villa in Italy and book the flight without thinking of how it would impact my pocketbook.
What part of your childhood do you miss the most?
Submitted by Maretta.
The part I miss most as an adult is the freedom - from obligation, from 'acting your age', from responsibility. We use to have great adventures as kids. I kind of miss letting my imagination run WILD, and not caring what anyone thought. I still have adventures but they are planned and very few and far between. (Note to self : have more adventures !! life is too short.)
In honor of the upcoming Olympics, what could you win a gold medal in?
Submitted by TheFiercestCalm.Collecting crafting supplies! I've been doing it for 35 years and have inherited quite a few from my mother and others as well. I'm slowly going through the supplies but keep buying more. It's a vicious cycle. ....And I fear, I've passed on the gene to my own daughter. It has given the two of us many fond memories and great times, and is something I've shared with my friends
What is your legacy?
Submitted by Beautifully Broken.
I'd like to think that I've left things on this planet a little better off than when I came into it, but haven't done things in my life with that in mind. I've given of myself because I enjoy helping others. I've taken care of the planet because I want it to be here for my great-grandchildren. I've raised my children to be good people and give back also. This is the key to a lasting change. If we don't teach our children to be givers instead of takers and users then we have failed. I hate to see children growing up with the "the world owes me" kind of attitude. You have to give to get. So I feel happy in the thought that I'll be leaving the world with two other people that have a conscience and care what happens to it enough to give back and treat it kindly.
July is national ice cream month! What's your favorite flavor?
Submitted by LittleWiseOne.
Wanting some form of ice cream is never an issue :D, I love it in all forms, but I think my favorite flavor would have to be a fresh rocky road. I love the nuts to be crunchy, the marshmallows soft and the chocolate rich !!!!!
There's not much that happens on this little rock but every Tuesday or Wednesday the 'ladies' (friends and friends of friends) get together for some talk, friendship and crafting! I enjoy it immensely because it's at my home. We all bring our own projects and something for the luncheon table. We talk a while and catch up with each other, then have a little lunch before starting in on our projects. It's the best part of my week. Sometimes we have a theme for the lunch portion but just about anything goes.
Paint me contented :D
There's nothing wrong with our 'affliction', many benefit from the fall-out. I actually started keeping a log/journal documenting what I... read more
